⭐ Ofsted Inspection Celebration – November 2024

📄Ofsted Report November 2024
We are incredibly proud to share the fantastic outcome of our most recent Ofsted inspection, which took place in November 2024. The inspector found that Raynsford Church of England Academy has taken effective action to maintain the standards identified at the previous inspection—a clear endorsement of our continued journey of improvement.

Although this was an ungraded Section 8 inspection (meaning no overall grade was awarded), the report celebrates many strengths of our school. It highlights the dedication of our staff, the happiness and confidence of our pupils, and the positive, inclusive culture we work hard to create every day.

🌟 What Ofsted Praised

🏫 A School Pupils Love
Pupils told the inspector they love coming to Raynsford. They feel safe, respected, and well cared for, and they are proud to be part of our school community. Our school values, such as forgiveness and inclusivity, are not just words—they are lived by pupils every day.

😊 Exceptional Behaviour and Relationships
The report describes pupils as extremely polite and notes that behaviour is consistently excellent. Pupils are able to recognise their emotions and manage them well. This self-awareness supports positive conduct and contributes to a calm, respectful environment for all.

📚 High Expectations and Strong Academic Provision
Ofsted recognised our ambitious and well-planned curriculum, particularly in reading, writing and mathematics. The inspector highlighted the way in which the curriculum builds in small, clear steps to help pupils achieve success. Teachers use their strong subject knowledge to deliver lessons that are both engaging and well supported.

📖 Reading as a Priority
The implemented phonics programme was singled out for praise. Pupils quickly develop fluency and confidence, and those who need extra support are identified early and helped to catch up. Pupils enjoy the high-quality books they read and benefit from a strong reading culture embedded across the school.

🌍 Inclusive Support for SEND
Pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including those who join mid-year, are welcomed, supported, and celebrated. The report noted that these pupils feel they belong and are given the help they need to thrive, whether through tailored classroom support or carefully planned bespoke learning programmes.

🎯 Pupil Attitudes and Motivation
Pupils are motivated to learn, behave respectfully, and actively take part in school life. They contribute through leadership roles, enjoy clubs and activities, and take pride in their achievements both in and outside the classroom.

🌱 Personal Development and Values Education
The school’s provision for personal development is a standout strength. The inspector praised how pupils are taught about values such as democracy, respect, and empathy, and how they apply these in real life, whether standing for school council, fundraising for charity, or showing compassion to others.

👥 A Strong and United Staff Team
The report recognised the tireless efforts of our leadership team and staff, who work together to meet the needs of every child. It also praised the school’s sensitive and thoughtful approach to staff workload, which helps foster a positive, collaborative environment.
