Mr Singh's Assembly

On Thursday 13th October, Mr Singh visited us to talk to us about what it means to be a Sikh helped by Parum. He explained that Sikhs believe in one God, they believe in giving to others and often give 10% of their income to charity, children often give their time as they don't have an income. If you visit a Gurdwara (Sikh place of worship) there will often be a food kitchen where anyone (non Sikhs as well) can have something to eat. He told us that Sikhs do not cut their hair and this is way men (and ladies) wear a distaar (turban) or ladies wear a chunni. We enjoyed watching Mr Boyd and the children wearing these.
