Europe (Year 6)
Welcome to Europe (Year 6) class! We are incredibly proud to be the first set of Year 6 at Raynsford
Miss Page teaches our class everyday and our teaching assistant is Mrs Griffett.
Our PE days are Tuesday and Thursday
As we are the oldest children in the school we are keen to be role models to the younger years. We particularly enjoy taking on leadership roles such as sports leaders and digital leaders.
Our classroom is a calm and welcoming learning environment where practical resources and working walls support and stimulate children’s learning. This year we are working on building resilience and independence ready for transitioning to secondary school in September.
Each week we are set a piece of English and Maths homework that is based on the learning we have done that week.
To ensure children have opportunities to explore a range of texts and are building their reading skills, we read daily during whole class reading time and also have three set reading skills lessons a week. These will help ensure we are more than ready for SATs when they arrive in May.
Each half term, our lessons are focused around a topic. This supports children to build upon their learning and to gain knowledge through a variety of learning styles and creative activities.
Key Information:
- Please ensure children come to school with a water bottle so we stay hydrated.
- For morning break, the children are welcome to bring a healthy snack into school. Please note, we are a nut free school.
